“We’ve just introduced our new French Country Collection, with model homes named after wineries in France,” says Ed Nordlund, executive vice-president of housing for Jayman, of the 31 estate homes lining a cul-de-sac with mountain and park views. “All homes have inset garages, which creates a warm and cosy streetscape, as well as larger yards.
“We’ve built recessed-garage homes before, but now you get the full impact of an entire streetscape of these homes.”
The French Country Collection models are, by virtue of deep-set garages, moved up front for a vista of French Country-style homes with steep-pitched roofs, stucco, stone, exposed aggregate driveways and minimum 25-ft. backyards.
“There are four basic floorplans and variations, as well as 12 elevations for these 31 homesites,” says Nordlund, adding each lot is pre-assigned a particular model.
The 2,348-sq.-ft. St. Germain show-home is one of two showhomes and several spec homes offering visitors a handy visualization of picturesque street smarts and quick possessions.
From an open-to-above foyer, the warm embrace of earth-rich colours is accentuated with the dramatic grandeur of a central staircase. An open front flex room is converted into a handsome den, while the expansive rear living space encompasses the great room, nook and kitchen.
The great room’s show-stopping focal point is a fireplace and entertainment centre topped by a lengthy mantle and six recessed niches, while the kitchen and nook area boast decadent delights such as a large granite island with flush eating bar, maple cabinets in a Tuscan stain with mocha glazing and reeded glass inserts, and a corner walk-in pantry.
Large windows throughout emphasize stunning mountain and park views, with a prime vantage point from an upstairs rear bonus room with built-in home theatre.
“Our French Country Collection homes are all oriented to take advantage of the views,” says Nordlund.
Second-floor square footage is bumped up to include two large kids rooms and an upstairs laundry room, while a spacious master suite with walk-in closet pampers with the ensuite’s dual sinks, soaker tub and oversized shower.
“These are estate homes,” says Nordlund, of exclusive French Country Collection standards such as maple, oak or bisque cabinets, maple hardwood, ceramic tile, granite islands, pot-and-pan drawers, GE appliances and rear deck.
Estate luxuries also include Cranston’s mountain backdrop, nearby Fish Creek Park and convenience-minded amenities.
“A commercial site with small, local convenience that’s within walking distance should open in the fall,” says Candiss Bengert, area manager for Jayman in Cranston, adding pathways, a planned golf course, upcoming hospital site at 196 Ave. and big box store havens such as South Trail Crossing are also part of an amenity-rich mix.
